# Product Guide

This guide explains the structure and behavior of the Anzo product. It covers account setup, balance mechanics, deposits, transfers, card functionality, and verification requirements, along with the conditions under which each feature becomes available.

# Overview

This section introduces Anzo and the core ideas behind the product. It explains how balances are presented, how funds move through the platform, and what happens when you send or spend money. The goal is to give you a clear understanding of the experience before you start using the app.

# What is Anzo

Anzo is a money app for people whose lives don’t fit inside one country.

If you move between cities, jobs, and currencies, Anzo gives you one place to add money, send it, spend with a card, and move value across borders — with clear pricing and outcomes before you confirm anything.

**Anzo is not a bank.** It’s a financial technology product that connects licensed payment providers, card programs, and digital asset infrastructure into a single, predictable experience.

**Handling people’s money requires more than code.** We treat it as a craft: we care about how flows feel, how information is shown, and how much effort it takes to understand what’s going on. Trust is not a slogan here — it’s something we have to earn with every interaction.

**Funds stay under your control.** You decide when money moves, where it goes, and in which form. Every transfer is initiated by you, and you see what will happen before it does.

At its core, Anzo is built around three things: clear information, fast execution, and real ownership of your balance.

# How Anzo Works

Anzo brings different ways of moving money into one place and makes them feel simple.

In the app, you see a single balance and a clear set of actions:

* add money
* send money
* spend with a card

Behind the scenes, routing, conversion, settlement, and supported payment rails are handled through regulated financial partners and modern payment infrastructure. You don’t need to understand how different rails, currencies, or systems work — the app abstracts that for you.

Before you confirm any action, you see:

* the total cost and any fees
* what exactly will happen to your balance
* whether additional verification is required

Nothing moves without your approval.

Pricing and any applicable requirements are shown before you confirm.

# Key Concepts

You don’t need a finance or crypto background to use Anzo.

But there are a few concepts that help make sense of how things work.

**Single balance, clear view**

Your balance is shown in USD, so you always have a clear sense of your spending power. Any underlying currencies or digital assets are handled in the background according to the applicable rates and rules.

**Money leaves your balance in two ways**

Whenever value leaves your Anzo balance, it happens in one of two ways:

* you send it to another Anzo user, an external wallet, or a supported bank account, or
* you spend it (using your Anzo card online or in-store).

In both cases:

* the amount is deducted from your **Total Spending Power (TSP)** — the single number that represents how much you can use at any moment
* you see the impact on your balance
* the transaction follows the rules of the selected method — whether that means an instant in-app transfer, a network-based transfer to an external wallet, a bank transfer rail, or card network authorization.

The action changes — the balance logic stays the same.

**You stay in control**

Anzo does not move your money on its own initiative. Adding money, transfers, and card spending are either initiated by you in the app, or triggered by you using your card at a merchant. The app shows what will happen and asks you to confirm before a transaction is submitted.

**Verification is action-based**

Identity and account verification are requested when required for a specific action — for example, issuing a card, or sending certain types of payments. When this happens, the app explains what is needed and why, before you start the process.

The rest of this guide walks through each part of Anzo step by step, so you always know what to expect and what’s happening with your money.

# Getting Started

This section walks you through the first steps of using Anzo. It explains how to create your wallet, where the app is available, how to add funds, and what your Total Spending Power (TSP) represents. It also covers when identity verification may be required and how different features become available as you start using the app.

# Creating an Account

When you start using Anzo, you’re not creating a traditional account with a username and password.

Instead, Anzo sets up a **personal wallet** for you and links it securely to your chosen sign-in method. There are no passwords to remember, and no traditional login credentials are stored by Anzo.

The wallet is generated using secure wallet infrastructure, and the technical complexity is handled automatically in the background.

#### How access to your wallet works

To keep your wallet secure, you choose a sign-in method:

* **Email**
* **Google (coming soon)**
* **Apple (coming soon)**
* **WhatsApp (coming soon)**

This sign-in method is used to:

* create and link your wallet to your email
* securely reconnect you to your wallet in future sessions

By continuing, you confirm that you’ve read and accepted Anzo’s [Terms of Service](https://anzo.app/terms-of-service) and [Privacy Policy](https://anzo.app/privacy-policy).

***

#### Using email

If you choose **Email**, Anzo uses one-time codes instead of passwords.

Each time you sign in:

1. Enter your email address.
2. You’ll receive a **one-time 6-digit code**.
3. Enter the code to continue.

A new code is generated for every sign-in.

If you sign out, you simply repeat the same process to reconnect to your wallet.

***

#### Creating your username

Next, you’ll choose your **Anzo username**.

Your username:

* allows other users to find you
* makes it easier to receive money
* can be changed later at any time

Usernames:

* must be between **3 and 15 characters** long
* may include **lowercase letters (a–z)**
* may include **numbers (0–9)**
* may include **periods (.) and underscores (\_)**
* cannot contain uppercase letters or additional special characters

Once you confirm your username, you’re taken to the home screen and can begin using Anzo.

***

#### Where you are after setup

Once sign-in is complete:

* your wallet is ready
* access is secured
* you can begin using the app immediately

At this stage:

* no funds have been added
* identity verification (KYC) is not required

If a specific feature requires verification, the app explains what is needed before you proceed.

Availability may differ between:

# Total Spending Power (TSP)

Your **Total Spending Power (TSP)** represents the total amount you can use in Anzo at any given moment.

It is the **single balance** used for:

* sending money
* spending with your card
* completing payments

TSP is displayed in **USD**.

***

#### What is included in TSP

TSP includes all funds that are available for use in your Anzo wallet, including:

* money received from other users
* funds added through supported methods
* amounts that have completed processing and are available

***

#### Why TSP is shown in USD

USD is used as a reference currency to provide a consistent balance view.

This means:

* your available amount is displayed in a single currency
* transactions are reflected against one unified balance
* you can see the impact of any action immediately

***

#### How TSP is used

TSP is applied whenever you:

* send money to another user
* send funds outside Anzo
* pay with your Anzo card

Before confirming any action, the app shows:

* how much of your TSP will be used
* how the transaction will affect your balance

***

#### What TSP is not

Your Total Spending Power:

* is not a traditional bank account balance
* does not require managing multiple currencies manually
* does not require understanding the underlying technical setup

It represents the amount currently available for use.

***

#### When TSP changes

TSP updates automatically when:

* funds are received
* money is sent or spent
* previously pending amounts become available or unavailable

If part of your balance cannot be used, the app indicates this before you confirm a transaction.

# Verification and Feature Access (Before/After KYC)

You can create and use an Anzo wallet without completing identity verification. Some regulated features require verification (KYC) and will request it when you attempt to use them.

***

#### Before KYC

Before completing identity verification, you can:

* create your wallet
* sign in and secure the app
* send and receive money with other Anzo users
* send and receive digital assets on supported networks
* view your balance and Total Spending Power (TSP)
* explore available features

At this stage:

* core wallet functionality is available
* peer-to-peer transfers are enabled
* identity verification is not required

If a specific action requires verification, the app will inform you before you proceed.

***

#### When KYC is required

Verification is required for features that involve regulated financial services.

This includes:

* adding funds to your account through supported payment methods
* issuing a virtual card

Different features may require different levels of verification, depending on applicable regulatory requirements.

Verification is triggered when you initiate one of these actions.

***

#### After KYC

Once verification is completed (where required):

* you can add funds to your account using supported payment methods
* you can issue a virtual Anzo card
* card payments become available

***

#### How KYC works in Anzo

* verification is not required to create or use a wallet
* it applies only to specific regulated features
* the app indicates when verification is required

Verification expands available functionality. Basic wallet functionality remains available without verification.

# Money Movement

This section explains how money moves through Anzo. It covers how funds enter your wallet, how your Total Spending Power (TSP) updates, and the different ways you can send or receive money. You’ll also learn how deposits work, how transfers are processed, and what to expect before confirming any transaction.

# How Money Moves in Anzo

Anzo uses a single balance model to manage all incoming and outgoing transactions.

All funds that enter your wallet are reflected in your **Total Spending Power (TSP)**, shown as a single USD balance.

Behind the scenes, funds are settled in **USDC on the Arbitrum network**, but the app always displays your available balance in USD for simplicity.

Every transaction — whether incoming or outgoing — updates this balance.

Money in Anzo can:

* be received
* be sent to another user
* be sent outside Anzo
* be used for card payments (where available)

Before you confirm any transaction, the app shows:

* the amount being used
* any applicable fees
* the expected outcome

Transactions are processed according to the selected method and applicable regulatory requirements.

# Deposits

You can add funds to your Anzo wallet using supported methods. Availability depends on your region and verification status.

# Receive Digital Assets

You can receive supported digital assets directly from another person.

#### Receive digital assets (example flow)

This video shows how to select an asset and network, generate a receiving address, and share it with the sender.

{% embed url="<https://youtube.com/shorts/H2bJthXhUMY?feature=share>" %}

#### How it works

1. Open **Deposit** in the app.
2. Select **Digital assets**.
3. Choose the asset you want to receive (**USDC** or **USDT**).
4. Select the **network the sender will use** to send the funds.

   The sender must use the **same network you select here**.
5. The app generates a receiving address and QR code.

You can then share this information with the sender in two ways:

* **Copy** – copies the wallet address so you can paste it anywhere.
* **Share** – opens your device’s sharing menu and creates a link containing the **selected asset and network**.

When someone opens the shared link, it loads the **same asset and network you selected** in the app and displays the corresponding deposit address.

Once the funds are sent and confirmed, they are added to your balance and reflected in your **Total Spending Power (TSP)**.

#### Important to know

* Always use the **exact asset and network shown** in the app.
* Sending funds on a different network can result in permanent loss.
* No identity verification (KYC) is required to receive funds this way.

# Add Money Using Local Currency

In supported regions, you can add funds using local currency.

This process is handled by regulated payment providers.

#### Add money with a mobile payment method (example: Apple Pay)

This video shows how to complete a deposit using a mobile payment method, such as Apple Pay. The exact flow may vary depending on your selected payment option and region.

{% embed url="<https://youtube.com/shorts/S_y9LVqOHAg?feature=share>" %}

#### How it works

1. Open **Deposit**.
2. Enter the amount you want to add.
3. Choose the currency you’re paying with (USD, EUR, or GBP).
4. Choose a payment method (e.g., card or supported mobile payment options).
5. Tap **Continue** to proceed to the secure payment interface of a regulated payment provider.

You’ll be redirected to complete the payment through a third-party provider.

After the payment is processed, you’re returned to the app. Once processing is complete, the funds are reflected in your **Total Spending Power (TSP)**.

Processing time and verification requirements are determined by the selected payment provider.

#### Availability

You can check whether adding money using local currency is available to you in **Section 1.2.2**.

# What Happens After a Deposit

When a deposit is completed:

* your TSP updates automatically
* the transaction appears in your activity history
* funds become available according to the selected method

If a deposit is pending, the app indicates its status.

# Sending Money

You can send funds using different methods, depending on the recipient and how they want to receive the money.

All send options use your TSP.

# Send to Another Anzo User

You can send money instantly to another Anzo user using their username.

#### How it works

1. Open **Send.**
2. Choose a recipient:
   * select someone from your recent list, or
   * search by **name or username**.
3. If the person is already on Anzo, they’ll appear in the results.
4. Select the recipient and continue.
5. Enter the amount you want to send.
6. Review the details and confirm.

Once confirmed, the transfer is processed instantly within Anzo.

#### If the person isn’t on Anzo

If the username you search for doesn’t belong to an Anzo user, the app lets you **invite them to join Anzo**.

You’ll be able to send money once they’ve created their username and completed setup.

#### Important

* Transfers between Anzo users do not include transfer fees.
* No additional identity verification is required for this action.
* The amount is deducted from your Total Spending Power (TSP) immediately.

# Send Digital Assets to an External Wallet

You can send supported digital assets (USDC or USDT) to a wallet address outside Anzo.

#### How it works

1. Open **Send** in the app.
2. Tap **Add new** to add a new recipient.
3. On the **Add new recipient** screen, under **How to send**, choose **Digital assets (USDC, USDT)**.
4. Select the **asset** you want to send (**USDC or USDT**).
5. Select the **network** the recipient is using.
6. Enter the recipient’s **wallet address** and, optionally, a **name or nickname** so you can recognize them later.
7. Enter the amount you want to send.
8. Review all details on the review screen.
9. Confirm the send.

Once confirmed, the transaction is sent to the recipient’s wallet.

#### What you need from the recipient

Before sending, make sure you have:

* the **correct wallet address**
* the **correct asset** (USDC or USDT)
* the **correct network**

All three must match exactly.

#### Important to know

* Transfers sent this way **cannot be reversed**.
* Using the wrong address or network can result in permanent loss.
* Anzo shows all details clearly before you confirm so you can double-check everything.
* Network fees may apply, depending on the network used.

#### After you send

* The amount is deducted from your **Total Spending Power (TSP)**.
* The transaction is processed on the selected network.
* You’ll see the status in the app once the send is completed.

# What’s the Difference Between These Options?

Anzo gives you different ways to send money, depending on **who you’re sending to** and **how they want to receive it**.

All options use the same balance, but differ in speed, cost, and required details.

#### Send to another Anzo user

Use this option when the recipient already uses Anzo.

* instant transfer
* **no fees**
* send using a username
* simplest and fastest option

Best for quick, everyday transfers between Anzo users.

***

#### Send to a non-Anzo user (digital assets)

Use this option when the recipient uses another wallet or service outside Anzo.

* requires a wallet address
* you choose the asset and network
* transfers can’t be reversed
* network fees may apply

Best when the recipient expects to receive digital dollars in their own wallet.

***

#### Choosing the right option

If you’re not sure which option to use:

* **Anzo user?** → Send to Anzo user
* **Wallet address?** → Send digital assets

# Cards

This section explains how Anzo virtual cards work and how to manage them in the app. It covers card issuance, spending limits, security features like 3D Secure authentication, and how to handle situations such as refunds, frozen cards, or lost and stolen cards. You’ll also learn when identity verification is required to issue and use a card.

# Virtual Cards

Anzo provides **virtual payment cards** linked directly to your Anzo wallet balance.

Virtual cards exist only in digital form and can be used for online payments, subscriptions, and mobile wallet payments where supported.

#### **Key characteristics**

* Issued instantly after approval
* Linked directly to your available wallet balance
* Used for online payments and subscriptions
* Can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay (coming soon)
* No shipping required

# Create a Virtual Card

Create a virtual card in seconds and start using it for online payments and subscriptions.

{% embed url="<https://youtube.com/shorts/K2DeAfXfTto?feature=share>" %}

#### How it works

1. Open **Cards**.
2. Tap **Create card**.
3. Start identity verification.
4. Complete the verification process.
5. Once approved, your virtual card is issued and ready to use.

#### Important to know

* Identity verification is required to create a virtual card.
* Your card is issued only after successful verification.
* Verification is handled by a regulated partner.

#### Card creation fee

* A $10 card creation fee applies only to your first Anzo card.
* This fee is charged only if your identity verification is completed successfully and your first card is issued. If verification is not approved and the card is not created, the card creation fee is not charged.
* The first card creation fee is non-refundable once charged.
* There are no card creation fees for additional cards you create afterwards.

# Card Activation

Virtual cards are active immediately after issuance.

No additional activation steps are required.

Once your card is issued, it is ready for use.

# Card Controls & Limits

#### Spending limits

Each card has maximum allowable limits defined by regulatory and issuer rules.

Within those maximum limits, you can set your own spending limits in the app.

#### Where to find it

To adjust spending limits:

1. Open **Cards**
2. Select your card
3. Open **Card Details**
4. Tap **Spending Limits**

#### Adjust spending limits (example flow)

This video shows how to access and update your card’s spending limits in the app.

{% embed url="<https://youtube.com/shorts/0z1pJraC0_I?feature=share>" %}

***

#### Available limit types

You can set limits for:

* Daily spending
* Monthly spending
* Yearly spending

These limits define the maximum amount your card can spend within each period.

***

#### How limits work

* Your custom limit cannot exceed the maximum allowed limit.
* Limits apply to successful transactions.
* If a transaction would exceed your set limit, it will be declined.

Changes take effect immediately after confirmation.

***

#### Important

* Limits apply per card.
* Limits do not affect incoming transfers.
* Freezing the card overrides spending limits and blocks new transactions.

#### Card controls

You can manage your card directly in the app:

* [Freeze or unfreeze](/product-guide/cards/lost-or-stolen-cards#freeze) the card at any time
* [Delete](/product-guide/cards/lost-or-stolen-cards#delete) the card if it is lost or stolen

# Online Payments (3DS)

Some card payments may require 3D Secure (3DS) authentication.

3DS is an additional security step used to confirm that the payment is authorized by the cardholder.

Whether 3DS is required depends on the merchant and card network rules.

***

#### How 3DS works

When you make an online payment and 3DS is triggered:

1. The merchant initiates a card authorization.
2. A 3DS confirmation request is sent to your Anzo app.
3. The app displays:
   * merchant name
   * transaction amount
4. You approve or reject the payment.

***

#### Time window

A 3DS request remains valid for **570 seconds**.

If it is not approved within this time:

* the transaction expires automatically
* no funds are deducted

***

#### SMS fallback

If a 3DS request is not approved in the app within 570 seconds, an additional verification step may be triggered.

In this case, a one-time SMS code is sent to your registered phone number.

To complete the payment:

* enter the SMS code before it expires.

If the code is not entered in time, the transaction is cancelled.

***

#### Key characteristics

* Some online transactions may require 3DS authentication.
* Approval is transaction-specific.
* Rejected or expired requests do not result in charges.

# Card Refunds

If a card payment is refunded:

* The refunded amount is returned to your Anzo balance
* Processing times depend on the merchant and card network

Some transactions may first appear as **pending** before being completed or reversed.

# Lost or Stolen Cards

#### Freeze

If you think your card may be temporarily misplaced:

* Freeze the card in the app
* All new transactions are blocked
* Previously authorized recurring transactions (e.g. Netflix, Spotify) may continue depending on merchant configuration.

You can unfreeze the card at any time.

#### Delete

If your card is lost or stolen:

* Delete the card immediately
* The card cannot be reactivated
* You will need to issue a new card to continue using card payments

# Card Replacement

There are two different actions related to card replacement: **deleting a card** and **replacing a card**. These actions behave differently.

#### Deleting a card

If you **delete your card**:

* the card becomes permanently disabled
* no new card is issued automatically
* you must manually create a new card if you want to continue using card payments

To create a new card after deletion:

1. Open **Cards**
2. Tap **Add new card**
3. Follow the card issuance flow

The newly created card will have **new card details (PAN, expiration date, and CVV)**.

***

#### Replacing a card

If you choose **Replace card**:

* a **new card is issued automatically**
* the new card receives **a new PAN, expiration date, and CVV**
* the previous card becomes permanently inactive

Replacement is typically used when a card is compromised or needs to be rotated.

Any existing mobile wallet versions of the previous card will stop working and must be added again.

***

#### Important

Deleting a card and replacing a card are **not the same action**:

* **Delete card** → no new card is issued automatically
* **Replace card** → a new card is issued immediately with new card details

# Identity Verification for Cards (KYC)

KYC (Know Your Customer) is the process of verifying a user’s identity and is required to issue and use Anzo cards.

Verification is requested when you initiate card issuance.

Without completing required verification:

* card issuance is not available
* regulated card features remain locked

***

#### **Why KYC is required**

Identity verification helps ensure that:

* the person using the app is who they claim to be
* cards and payments are protected from fraud and misuse
* Anzo and its card issuer meet regulatory requirements

Without completing the required verification, card issuance and certain card features are not available.

***

#### **What happens after verification**

Once your identity is verified:

* your account becomes eligible for card issuance
* card limits and features are unlocked
* you can use your Anzo card without repeating verification unless required by regulation

# FAQs

This section answers common questions about using Anzo. It covers topics such as account access, card payments, 3D Secure authentication, deposits and transfers, and identity verification (KYC). The goal is to provide quick explanations for situations users may encounter while using the app.

# Account & Access

**What happens if I log out?**

Logging out ends your current session. You can log back in using your selected authentication method. Your wallet and balance remain unchanged.

**Can I use Anzo on multiple devices?**

Yes. Each device requires authentication.

# Cards

**Why was my card transaction declined?**

A transaction may be declined if:

* it exceeds your spending limit
* 3DS was not approved within 570 seconds
* the card is frozen or blocked
* the merchant authorization failed

**Do pending transactions count toward my limit?**

Yes. Pending authorizations temporarily reduce your available limit.

**Does freezing my card stop subscriptions?**

Previously authorized recurring payments may continue depending on merchant configuration.

**Is there a fee to create a card?**

A $10 card creation fee applies only to your first Anzo card. The fee is charged only after successful identity verification and successful card issuance.

If your verification is not approved and your first card is not created, the fee is not charged.

The first card creation fee is non-refundable once charged. Additional cards created afterwards do not have a card creation fee.

# 3D Secure (3DS)

**Why did my online payment fail?**

All online payments require 3DS approval. If you do not approve the request within 570 seconds, the transaction expires automatically.

**Will I be charged if I reject a 3DS request?**

No. Rejected or expired requests do not result in charges.

# Deposits & Transfers

**Why is my deposit still pending?**

Processing time depends on the selected method and network confirmation.

**Can I reverse a digital asset transfer?**

No. Transfers to external wallets cannot be reversed.

**Why is my balance shown in USD?**

Your balance is displayed in USD as a reference currency for consistency.

# Verification (KYC)

**What is KYC and why is it required?**

KYC is identity verification required to issue cards and enable regulated features.

**When will I be asked to complete KYC?**

Only when you try to use a feature that requires it — such as issuing a card.

**How long does KYC take?**

Verification time depends on third-party providers. Some verifications may be completed quickly, while others can take longer depending on the review process.

**What happens if my KYC is declined?**

You’ll be notified and may be asked to provide additional information.
